solstice surprise

Postby Dainsberg_Andrew » Fri Dec 21, 2012 6:55 pm

9 headed up in the Partyvan(trademark!) to scout the Back of the Rack hg launch and a nearby knob for some high ridge soaring. Willie flew his hg down to Parma but we weren’t sold on launching- it was clocking high teen SE gusts. We checked Ejs next but again, too windy. At sky port it was weak in and we decided to ‘huck for luck’ on a shortest day/shortest flight challenge ;) Surprisingly, most were able to hang @ the antenna farm for as long as we liked- up @ 25+ in smoothies with room to fly around. Michelle and I took a nice glide seam out to E Beach from @2750. I think we had one St. Mary’s landing… Aaron and Kev (et.al) landed Parma to run retrieves- thanx. fun under the scuds.

fun times boating around in mellow lift under gray skies with friends, watching the world end under us. buoyant from parkers to roundhouse. andy and michele had ridiculous beautiful glides to the beach. took a stab at holy hills after an hourish and flushed to the bright green runway at parma. sweet little day! big thanks to whoever retrieved the ole party van!
