Full trucks went up to Chief this past weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday’s conditions were exceptional, and have been reported on in a previous post by Chris G. Saturday it was a bit overcast, but it looked like it could be good enough to warrant a drive up to launch. The group waited there for a hole in the clouds, and once in the air was surprised with better lift than expected. Everyone got up in the mid-high 5000’s, and a couple of people attempted to go downrange to the high school, but had to turn back to the propeller field LZ due to clouds moving in again. Everyone was up for about an hour.
Sunday saw some of the old Topa crew come out, plus some of the other regulars. Conditions were better than the previous day and folks pretty quickly got into the air. Chad looked like he had gotten up to about 7000 over launch, and three people made it downrange to the high school, all in very pleasant conditions.
