LInk to SD Flight from the Skyport on Sunday

Sunrise Synopsis: Still trending toward high pressure, but expect the wind to be manageable. The gear mesh between the tight low spinning CCW and the high spinning CW has moved off to the east, leaving us with moderate flow from the north at altitude. I expect the south coast to block and suck in from the SW below ridge line in the afternoon.
There is some east flow from both a morning eddy (the eddy is stronger toward LA) and the wind aloft, so you might be able to launch from Ojai an try to stay high for a leg to SB then turn around in the afternoon and ride back with the lower level SW.
It is blowing around Point Conception, but the mid channel buoy has been mild since 4 AM. Debbie was gusting above 15 at dawn, so launch time is somewhat dependant on when blockage occurs. I would guess we should be able to get on course by 11, but the first leg may be west bound toward West Bowl. I recommend caution reaching deep into San Marcos Pass because the north wind could be more pronounced in a possible venturi.
The lapse rate looks ok with surface temperatures 10 degrees warmer on Sunday compared to Saturday, but by Monday the high will have moved inland resulting in another 10 degrees of warming. Monday may be better, especially inland, but today is the weekend so for some today is real and Monday is academic.
I'd recommend leaving your vehicle at east beach so you can get back to it by Bus.
