skyport friday

Hard (for me) to believe it would effectively block just 10 minutes after the crazy dusty and hard N when we arrived~ great timing Eagle van! (actually FAO van timed it even better!) Brendan was off first and soon was up to @5K @TF. I did the RR routine and got @48. Chris made his way up TF as well and we were Eastbound. N and NE poured over the high points (prob close to the predicted 20 at 6K)~ making it interesting: getting decent lift while flying upwind and crabbing toward the mtns… Pushing toward the power lines didn‘t seem too fun to us at the time. At Castle, I headed out in a nice thermal that drifted me due South. Topped out pretty high and found a convergence seam that gave me a fast, flat glide all the way past La Conchita and the Shell Island Pier. Flew @ 17 miles, and I’d guess over half of it was on final glide. Brendan and Chris made Padaro. Aaron, Ty and Kevin made it there a little while later I believe. Anyone else?

there were probably >30 pgs and maybe a dozen(?) hangies~ manyother pilots can post a more interesting flight report than mine on sat.
