Low pressure, monsoonal conditions, light winds aloft and a solid lapse rate, anybody in? Thurs and Fri.

I'm hoping for good Pine conditions on Saturday.

Maybe Nuthouse tomorrow (Friday).

in lieu of a better plan, we're setting a tentative for nuthouse~ friday, 1030 nhs. a little tough to call, its a game-day decision.

I'm up for Pine Friday, even if it requires some retrieve gymnastics. In fact, a really, really, difficult retrieve from Pine beats an easy nuthouse landing anyday...

true that! pine offers the chance to blastoff into space whereas the front range is more like "bouldering." but in lieu of a better plan, nuthouse should work ok today. if you want robb, we can shoot for fillmore and make the retrieve as tough as you want. i'm in! 1030 nhs. contestants will be checked at the gate with an "extra water detector!"

so the winds reported on the Vandenberg Lapse rate chart this morning, 20 at 7k' held true while the forecasted winds on NAM model posted Thursday for Pine did not...

I'm up for going when the winds lighten up :D

Dietrich made a great escape from the nuthouse, after being foiled a few times in the past, to make it near thatcher. Brendan and I flew to Fillmore. Backcountry looked awesome; super cumis with a few lurking lenticulars. We had quite a few nice, wide thermals with consolidated cores.
Flying over the topa bluffs was my highlight and where I hit my max alt: 7450. Flew into Fillmore with more than twice the typical altitude; it was tempting to push it~ but less tempting than an ice mocha right at the vons lz. Dietrich hitched a ride and retrieved us before we finished our drinks>.
