That's making great time!
Planning to fly tandem on my Falcon2; I few my cocoon harness (with my passenger attached), using only my Flytec Sonic vario. Keeping it low tech! I worked from peak to peak in the moderate winds and strong climbs. A couple times I was wondering if I had any decent LZs in glide, but there was enough lift to quell those worries. As I flew out toward Bates I could see PGs on the cliffs, but not where you'd normally expect to see them. The were flying near the oil pier. I had been trying to raise the other hangies that I knew were at Bates on the radio with no luck. I should have clued in sooner to how east the winds were down low. I dropped from the S-SW flow aloft into the SE down low and saw my glide drop off. I had dreams of flying onto the cliff and soaring with the PGs, but alas, I ended up landing 200yds short at the driving range. A fun flight. In hindsight, it may have been easier to stay high and fly through the pass. Hammer had raged off before I launched, and called after I landed to say that he's made his field by Magic Mt.
