Fun evening glass off at Plowshare on Saturday. A group of us went to Plowshare on Saturday afternoon and had a great time! We arrived at launch around 2:45 and it was blowing in pretty hard (25+ steady). There were a couple of pilots there from Santa Maria and one was up a couple over launch. It was pretty sketchy as several pilots in our group were flying falcons and penetration was a concern. Two other pilots (Santa Maria) launched while it was still strong and flew around for a bit, making it look like a lot of work due to the strong winds. Those pilots eventually had enough and flew out to the LZ after about 30 minutes of flight time.
After some discussion, we decided to wait and see if it was going to die down a bit. It did (about 15 minutes later) by about 10mph. Stoked!!! We all launched and enjoyed a beautiful Plowshare glassoff for about an hour, or until it got too cold. 4 of us playing around the ridge having a great time! Beautiful sunset, smooth cold air, nice LZ, and a nuclear sky to enjoy after landing. Good times.... I'm starting to love off-season Plowshare.
