LAB RESULTS: Positive

Distance: 24.4 miles to Fillmore
Flight time: 2.5 hours
Max Alt: 6K @ Chief Peak
Bugs: Horrendous!

Comments: a consistent tail wind and decent lift made eastbound xc an option. tough up/down+turb at nordhoff, stooges and santa paula ridge. pac-man like gobbling up of lift dots from below twin peaks up chief's spine. thanks brendan.

Recommendations: confirm lab results. retest tomorrow, conditions willing: 10am nordhoff.

u definately woulda liked it chris. pretty rare to have a well defined and consistent west tail wind all the way from nuthouse ridge way on down the range. (seems like when its east, its really east and presents a conveyor to sb but west seems to get combined)... charging thru east popping up either at nordhoff ridge or west repeater seems the norm. then, it seems like near boyds theres a up canyon draw that makes connecting to sta paula ridge with altitude a task. i find the wind direction(s) of the ojai range to be super-dynamic. fast eddie explained to me once how it worked, but i was watching a vulture or something and wasnt listening.
