Join me for a relaxing Saturday afternoon flight on Oat. Goodenought LZ at 1:30pm.
Please call, so rides to launch can be organized.

I took the liberty of setting up a Twitter account for Nitrous. His user name is NitrousOfOatMt. I will give him the password within the week and let him have fun with it. I would recommend programming his phone number into your phone in case Oat is flyable and details need to be worked out.

Nice idea, Simon. Was the day good at Oat for Saturday? Would have loved to have been there, but since Carmen and I opted for some training hill time in SB that day, our curiosity is high on how it went at Oat. We managed a late (2:30pm) Alternator launch with some visiting friends we ran into at the training hill and soared west bowl for 35 min in bubbly smooth air. Love to hear the synopsis for Oat. Thanks for Posting Doc, sorry we missed it once again!

Cheers,

Marty and Carmen

No one called to fly, so finished having lunch with the family. Sam and I got to launch about 2:20. I had a job for him at launch, and he wanted to make some money. I launched about 2:35 in smooth 5 to 8mph winds. Turned in 360, 5 seconds after launch and continued to about 3200feet. I could see the top of the dirty brown air towards Magic Mountain. Had fun buzzing Sam for the next 20 min as he was working the shovel. Flew with a red tail and was delighted and a little nervous when he joined me about 20 feet off of my left wing tip. Top landed to talk with Sam. He was not amused or entertained by my antics. He said he has seen me do that thousands of times. Launched again about 3 in 0 to 5mph, and was having to work to stay a launch level, when four Condors appeared right on top of me. I tried to find the lift they were working, but could not. It is hard to recognize them with out the number tags on the wings. I miss the tags. The next hour was a good abdominal work out (harness mods coming apart) as the high cloud reduced lift to just a sporadic trickle at the points. Just as I was able to kick away from the hill into a big enough thermal for a few 360s and into a climb, Sam called and said that he was at the LZ. He could not find me, so drove to pick me up. Landed at 4:10.
It was a good call not coming to Oat. It would have only been about an hour of relaxing flight.
