10 am. Looking wetter than expected, but still expecting some clearing this afternoon. The dew point at La Cumbre went back up to match the temperature after a low reading of 25 degrees at 8 am. The north has backed off with a little flow from the south east starting to materialize. Pushing Parma till noonish

I'm on kid duty till 10:30ish, so I likely won't get to Parma before 11ish

8:30 am review. It was clear around midnight, then continued cooling brought the lower level temperatures down to saturation resulting in some status clouds, but the relative humidity decreased above the low level clouds. The rising barometer aided by a light flow from the NE on the ridge seems to be clearing the low stratus. The lapse rate is not impressive, but the wind should be very light, so if we can keep some sun, it should work good enough to move around. Still expecting sun in the afternoon, but less confident on the early OD due to the falling relative humidity. Friday appears to be drier and warmer, but also warmer at altitude with some prefrontal flow from the SE beginning to build. The next front moving through over the weekend appears to have colder air behind it, so maybe Monday, Thursday and Friday?

Midnight guess at Thursday. Looking to stay local and avoid the dreaded Nuthouse hike. Hoping the road up from Parma is passable, and the early OD isn't too thick and low. Looks like the wind is backing off pretty fast, and there is a drying trend, but with the dew point only a few degrees below the midnight temperatures, it won't take much lifting to saturate. The lapse rate seems ok, but not impressive. Will need some sun to make it work. Suspect the early low OD will lift and dissipate in the afternoon.

Friday looks promising also. Dryer, but possibly more stable, and the prefrontal SE is likely to build back sometime prior to Saturday Night's frontal passage.
