Owens was good at Sunday. I flew 43, Jonas 40 and Arnie 100 miles. There was also many sailplanes along the route.

Great times in the Owens! We had a small group up there: DD, Janet, Aaron and Allison Laplante, Hammer, Mike (Hammer's friend and HG Pilot), and myself. We all had a great campsite in the Alabama Hills and enjoyed the beautiful weather up there. Sunday was a pretty challenging day of flying as we had some high hills come in, shading the mountains, which flushed most pilots out of the Sierra's before passing Onion Valley. If you were able to be patient and stay aloft thoughout the high clouds, you were treated with a fantastic flying day! DD had the day's best flight up to Big Pine.

Monday brought better conditions, and a beautiful day. Nobody went for distance as we all wanted to make our trip home a bit shorter, but we enjoyed bouncing around the peaks between Whitney Portal and Winnoga.

I took some pictures from our campsite and the Alabama Hills, as well as a few in-flight shots on Monday.
