I was just hitting balls at Tee Time and saw the flag I kept missing switch from off to onshore, so I'm sitting at (Lower?) Bates now. Wind straight in, ribbons about straight out. Looks like some ruffle in the water about 1/4 mile out. Could get good. Bag is in the car, right under the golf clubs...

Where to meet?

Well, it was good... For about 15 minutes.

Pulled out the wing at about 11:45(?) to encounter what looked like a level 5 logic puzzle line tangle. The paragliding gnome that lives in my garage must have worked hard on this one. While I was busy using my sub-Mensa problem solving skills on the nest, Dave pulled up his wing and got decent penetration out front and then over to the bump.

Finally unraveled, I checked to see where Dave was and discovered he made the jump. Based on the freshening "breeze" at this point, I'm guessing it was partially forced. White caps, pelicans with folded wings barely penetrating and my rather small set of balls lead me to the decision of keeping it grounded.

Probably for the better, I have a golf lesson to give in 11 minutes.

Hope Dave fared well.

Anyone have an update or more info on "Dave's Jump" across to freeway toward La Conchita on Friday ?
