If I close my eyes, i can still feel like Im turning in circles.
I wonder how many other pilots feel the same way tonight?
Man it sure was another fun day at the alternator.
We had a fuller Eagle van than yesterday, but it chuged along to takes us all up to launch.
We where all stoked to see cummies forming on the drive up.
It seemed a bit lighter and than yesterday and the cycles where mostly S w/ a bit of both E and W on it.
Hoping that it meant something i launched first only to find me scratching big time on super smooth air for a while.
Finally i accepted that there was nothing for me there and headed for the landslide where little by little I made it to the top of westbowl.
By then OJ was high over launch showing us how its meant to be done.
Little by little everyone took off.
MOst pilots where still on their 3rd 4rt flight.
Some thermaled in front of launch under Rob's coaching, others over westbowl.
It still amazes me how he can manage to keep tabs on everyone out there and still help them thermal and stay safe.
Skills!
I got to 4 and change a couple of times.
The best thermals where near launch.
While WB was a bit more textured.
And then there where cummies popping now and then on the front.
So there was plenty of room to soar for everyone.
MOst people had long flights.
One pilot blew everyone away though
His name is Jeremy and he was thermalling all over the place. Coring snotty thermals with me and Ty like he just got back from Valle, looking like a pro
ON HIS FIRST FLIGHT!!!!!!
The best part was finding out that he does not have a Vario!!!!!
(Which might be a good thing, he might still be up there otherwise.)
Man!
Skills!!!
Eventually it was time for me to land.
By then Rob launched and I heard he made it to E. beach
I wish I could have had lunch with everyone, next time!
I wonder if tomorrow.....
