Anybody going flying today?

Postby urtripn60 » Wed Aug 27, 2008 4:21 pm

Remember the voice that spoke those words tomorrow......he has been gone 3 years now....I know you all miss him, so maybe you can stop and send him a hello tomorrow...

A lot has happened since 3 years to many of you....Tony and Skippy became parents, Millington got married!, Scottie now has 2 kids and many of the hang-gliders are taking up para-gliding........think EJ probably would have to if he was still here.

And.....Sierra Skye is a first grader!

Hope you are all well...

Hugs........Sue

I still can hear E.J. say "Toe knee. Toooooeeeeeee kneeeeeee. Tooooooeeeee kneeeeeeeee nooooooooose". as he pointed to his toe and knee and head while looking at me with a mischievious expression. He was cracking himself up and it was years before he finally let me in on his accent and where all this was coming from. Classic E.J. The world was his oyster and we were just lucky enough to brush against it now and then. Whether or not we understood it didn't stop him from laughing and riding away.

I can still see E.J. and Hammer flying very low at No Name. Twisting tight circles wing tip to wing tip drifting with a thermal close to the terrain, then the thermal left the terrain, drifted into the canyon and went skyward as did Hammer and E.J. What a dance those two were having in the sky and I marveled at both of their skill and felt lucky to witness it.

And I still see E.J., with his cool sun glasses on dancing with Sierra like he was the proudest dad in the world at Aaron and Alison's wedding party. He looked like he was locked timelessly in the moment on that beautiful, sunny afternoon, supremely confident of himself and his daughter while you watched approvingly from the side.

I still can't believe he's gone. What a void. What a stud. What a whacky sense of humor. Loved it. Miss him too Sue.
