The State Of Discussion Board

Postby Chris G » Thu Mar 27, 2008 5:33 pm

I think I've come to a relatively stable and functional stage for the discussion board. I hope everyone likes it. There are some cool new features but sometimes they're not obvious. If you're not sure how to do something, or don't see a feature you'd like, shoot me a message, it may already exist or may be easy for me to implement.
I'm going to take a bit of a break from it for now unless there are any glaring issues. Keep those photos coming for the header graphic! There are some funny ones, and some beautiful shots. They do have to be BIG photos though!

Hey Chris,

Thanks for all the work on the Forum...it really looks great! My only question/concern is about the new forum category "Events, Comps, Meetings". I think it's kind of overdoing it and annoying having to go into 3 different sections to find out about relatively similar stuff ie: 1. General 2. Flight discussion 3. Events etc. This isn't a BIG deal just my opinion. Maybe we could keep all of them and add a "View all topics" like (pgforum.com) has, which just sorts all forum topics from most recent on one page. There just doesn't seem to be THAT much conversation going on to warrant all these categories.

Anybody else out there agree??

Thanks,
Ben

There is actually. There are a few links across the top of the forums box. "View Unanswered Posts" "View New Posts" and "View Active Topics".

I created the new forum for events etc in preparation for a sort of calendar thread. Still working out the details on that one though. I may roll it back into general again if I can't find a satisfactory way to do the calendar.
