Evening Falconry Thursday evening

Postby Tony de Groot » Thu Dec 27, 2007 8:47 pm

I was jonesing to fly today but had no wingman. Skippy came home at 2:00 P:M and said she would drive for me. Too late? Hmnnnn... Oh well lets do it. Wind was coming in smoooooth and ohhhhhh the first thermal at 3:00 P:M was BUTTTTTERRR to 3885 ft. off launch.

Cruised over to Thermal Factory and got a little more to 4,000 ft and just played around in the back bowl just letting my glider go wherever it wanted which was mostly, slowly up, and up. Could get really close to the terrain as the lift was so smooth with zero winds while the sun was getting very low with a bit of cirrus shading and it was REALLY cold. A last shot of low sunlight kicked off the last thermal to almost 4,000 ft.

Landed after an hour of butter, gravy and mash potatoes at Parma where Anne-Odile was waiting. She said she video taped a Coyote while she waited for me.

Sweetness.......

Way to go Tiger. I've had some of the most pleasant flghts ever there late in the day all by myself. Just me, the glider, and the birds, enjoying this beautiful place we have to fly.....
