Old Business
- Weather Station (Hesham Ghobarah)
- Overview
- The current focus is to build a system that will send the weather data on 15 minute intervals to a location that can upload it to a web server. Sending the data only at intervals will conserve battery power
- Equipment
- A radio compatible weather station prices run about $180 to $400 depending on options. Hesham thinks we can get by with the lower priced option.
- We also need a Radio, Power Supply, and a web interface.
- Expertise
- Hesham can handle the hardware part
- Need advice on the radio interface. Will talk to Ken Howes from Crestline
- We need someone to do the web interface
- We need someone to talk to the forest service about permission
- Discussion Page
- There was a motion and some agreement about not permitting anonymous postings. Since this may be considered an item of substance, our bylaws indicate we may need to give notice prior to a vote.
- Ron Faoro volunteered to moderate the Discussion Forums. Tom Beidler will set him up with the tools he needs
- Mark Pratt & Edward Skow were concerned about negative comments that might hinder landowner relationships. After some discussion, it was decided that Ron would use his good judgment in moderating the board
