New Business & Announcements
- P.O. Box
- Tom requested input on moving PO box to Summerland
- Arguments posted on our web site discussion
- Kristi would like to have the box located next to bank for her convenience
- Currently, Kristi is picking up the mail once a month?
- Since no one else seemed to care, Tom & Kristi will discuss the item and
it was deferred
- Radio Reimbursement
- Dan Keyser indicated it would be good for Edward to have dependable
access to a radio since he frequently crew's for the membership.
- The membership voted to reimburse Edward Skow in the amount of $225 for
the radio he purchased. The radio is considered association property,
but Edward is has authority over custody and control of the radio.
- Bocalli's LZ
- Dan Keyser indicated he thinks we should provide a gift to the primary LZ
landowner (up the street from Bocalli's). The membership indicated
general agreement, but no one had much info on him, including his name.
Dan indicated he would look into it.
- School Yard Landings
- The posting on the discussion board regarding Topa Topa School was
acknowledged. The membership was reminded that it's best to avoid
school yards when school is in session, and Thatcher School is off limits at
all times.
- Topa Pilot Rating
- Dan floated the idea of having a minimum rating of P3 for out of town
pilots
- Discussed, but no consensus and no action
- Claude floated the idea of limiting our LZ's, and not attempting upwind
XC toward Nordhoff without some yet to be determined minimum altitude
- Not much discussion. Dan suggested that Claude formulate a
proposal with pro and con arguments for discussion.
- Tom encouraged members to check visitors for USHGA membership so our
insurance is effective.
- Rob Sporrer indicated he is willing to check out visiting pilots at
Ellings park.
- Owens Valley
- Logistics were discussed
- Tom gave a brief site overview
