Great job Sara! You worked it like a pro up their at launch, and pulled a nice glide to the ant farm. EJ was the only hangy setting up when we pulled up to launch, and he said he was feeling a little lonely before we arrived. I helped him with his hang check, and he was off. I'm sure he made Ojai and beyond. We were happy to find oursleves getting to 3700 at the factory. We didn't expect to get this high, the day didn't seem to stellar on paper to me. I should know by now to pay heed to predictions by Sundowner. Casey, Marty(Airplay instructor and buddy), and I topped out at the factory together then split up as the thermal got weaker. I stayed with a little piece of it, and found another little core. Tight high pressure thermals, but not to tight that you couldn't extend just a tiny bit on the upwind leg. Best climb on the day was 850 fpm up for me. I topped at 3800 and headed to Montecito Peak. Marty wasn't too far behind. We managed to make our way down range, getting as high as 4250 along the way. Got a litle low at castle ridge but found a sweety and managed to connect. Marty had a great low save there at castle. I wanting a little more altitude when going on glide to the next lift source, but found that I didn't have to find relief for long before connecting along the way. Got to the power line crossing, and hung out for 20 minutes scratching, and waiting for a pulse. I started to flush out the spine toward Snowball and had a couple good glide extenders on the way. Got to the coast with 500, flew out over the ocean, then parked it next to the hot dog stand for a chili kraut dog. Marty arrived a few hundred feet higher, and wolfed down a dog himself. Got on the phone and found out my friend Brian was running northbound on 101 at the avenue so he boosted us back to Parma. Thanks to BK for driving my van down to Parma.
