I was spur of the moment flying today. Glenn called and we connected at noon at Parma. By the looks of things when we were there we should have been there an hour earlier.

When we got to launch the cycles were being sucked up toward the R%R. Big stuff happening there. Finally the sun opened up a little and it was blowing straight up.

We had visitors from England and after they missed 2/3 good cycles waiting for something better I politely asked them to move. With that he did a forward and took a line down the valley and landed in St. Mary's.

Now the sun was gone but the cycles were still good enough. I took one and tried to get up at launch but that was a waste of time because everything was happening out front. I split the difference between the Rhouse and the Afarm and when I arrived at the ridge my wing stopped. My gps said I was doing 6mph. I was not sure if it was forward or backward, but I was going up at 300'/min.

I arrived at cloud base 3500' about 10 min later after searching out the lift and headed to the beach. There was a good headwind as my ground speed was only 15mph. I found lift in a couple of places that gave me an extra couple of hundred feet and 35min later I was landing at Ebeach.

Jeff Parker who had never gone to the beach before landed there too. Glenn got skunked as the cycles completely stopped. He drove down and picked us up. thanks and sorry Glenn.
