To expand a bit on Chris's report, it was truly a great day -- very bouyant, lots of lift, but nothing very brutal. Most thermals were running about 400 feet per minute with the maximum detected on my fly tech being 571 feet per minute. The three kids and I all got up to somewhere between the 67 and 69 hundred feet (depending upon the pilot) and all were up about an hour and a half before getting cold/needing a bathroom, heading out en-mass, and landing near home -- I on the front lawn and the less experienced (and probably saner children) in the big field next to our place. Today, like yesterday, was beautiful with all the wings in the air.
