The conditions At Salina Ridge were quite good...we were able to fly the entire ridge in early morning ridge lift and afternoon thermals allowing us to make the beach runs on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, the only company we had until late Saturday was the local crows, which actually put on a show as we sat eating our lunch at launch...Conditions were excellent with 10 to 15 mph SouthWest onshore flow, mixed with fat thermals breaking off every where out front.Gate was open and we were able to drive in every day...hiking up occasionally when we landed out. Many thanks to LOUIS for driving us constantly. Sunday found us in Torrey Pines where we flew from 12:30 to SunDown in conditions that were enviable and I made more "touch and go's" that evening than... well you get the picture. Flying at 100 + over from the pier, past the golfcourse...it was a really nice way to end the trip. Waking up at 3 am on Monday was pretty rough, but my memories pushed me through... Got turned on to a site 3 hours south of Salina Ridge that apparently every one from San Diego goes to now with a 40 mile long ridge that benches up to the mountains...
