This weekend was no good at Plowshare, so a half dozen of us flew a new,East facing site out near Maricopa off Hwy 166 toward the Ca Valley. We named the spot Raven's Ridge after all the Raven's soaring there. It was about a 600 foot hill. Flights were fairly short but always challenging and entertaining as it was a combination of thermals and ridge lift. Lawn chairs were set up on launch. Low saves and attempted top landings kept everyone laughing, clapping and pointing. A few pilots had more than one flight. A little rowdy and turbulent but we all got a little air time. We also spotted an Antelope walking down near the road.
