The forecast was for NW wind 20-25 knots today-seemingly not ideal for plowshares. Santa Maria had sparse fog but nothing extended too deep into the mountains. Upon arrival at launch winds blew 22 mph to stronger gusts (about 10:30). We waited 4 hours during which time the 14 pilots cleaned and opened the now 4 spacious grassy launches. Perseverance and karma paid off as everyone was dealt a decent flight and safe landing. Due to the lack of heating in the internal valleys max altitude was 6000' with most pilots getting to 4500' at some point. Similar forecast for tomorrow.
