After running a few errands, Brendan and I decided to check out the Avenue. The winds were 10-12 with occasional gusts. We quickly packed everything up the somewhat muddy, slippery hike. 15 minutes later, Brendan was up at launch, spread out and ready to go. A cycle came through and he pulled up. The gust pulled him back up and over the barbed wired fence. Startling not only us, but the cows on the other side. Fortunately, no one was hurt and the wing only had a minor injury.

After watching Brendan's trial and error, I launched a little lower on the hill. The cycle was good and I took off, pleasantly surprised by the lift right out in front of launch. I made a few passes down to the gun ranch and back, passing by launch a few times. However, less than 15 minutes later, I was too low and landed at the school.

In that it only took 15 minutes to hike up and I only got a 15 minute flight, the saying "You get what you give" and "No pain, no gain" came to mind. I guess next time, I'll have to sacrafice a longer hike for a longer flight.
