Zvi, John & Tom (from Ojai), and I did the hike up by the Nut House. Launched at 12:30. Cycles were gusty and far apart. I made it back to the ridgeline by the Lookout, but was having trouble maintaining altitude. After an hour I made a run for the high school, leaving with 3600. A dogleg in my flight path, and too much headwind left me a little short. I had a nice landing in a field near the stop sign on 33.

Zvi tested the landing at the Nut House.

It was John and Tom's first time in Ojai. Since they are both local residents, they were quite anxious to fly. John did well, scratching long enough to get up on the ridge by the Lookout, and then made the glide to the high school. Tom was working it for a while, but ended up being blown over the back and then rotored into a nice old lady's back yard. He hit the gound OK, but his wing was neatly draped over a 15 foot walnut tree. We spent the next hour or so pruning her tree and thanking her for being so understanding.

Tom provided beers at the Deer Lodge later.
