Comments: While surfing the web, I came across an article about 'Big Collapses' I found it useful. You should be able to link to it here: http://www.kurious.org/PG/Collapse.htm Through my 90+ hrs. of incident-free flying, I have (falsely) come to perceive PG to be a benign harmless sport. My post-collapse flying experience is different. I feel more fear when I fly and I try not to get so close to the terrain if I can help it (less scratching). I also know that collapses can happen suddenly in turbulent air.

My checklist for the next collapse:

0 Prevention - See 5Kg weights rule (article) ========================================= 1. Quick look to assess 2. Immediate counter weight-shifting/ steering 3. Pump out if necessary 4. If still uncontrolled - 'Let the wing fly' (hands-up...see article) 5. If low and not recovering - DEPLOY! (See comment about Macho pilots - article) =========================================
