EJ Bowl to almost Ventura

Jumped on the FAA bus to EJ, heard report of 7400 better dress warm 1 fleece bottom, 2 fleece tops, and a snowmobile suit was just right. Launched at 11:10, got to 4500 at the R&R, 4800 at the factory, clouds were sucking hard so I didnt want to get to close to base, big sink in the blue on the way to Montecito 5200 at Montecito, 4500 at Castle, cloud base looked about 4800 at Divide too low to go for me and my 1-2 wing. I angled out toward Bates and got there with 1600 then made the jump to La Conchita got there with 700 ft. the lift was marginal scratched east past Muscle Shoals and looked up to see a blue Ozone Rush Scratching just east of me where did he come from I wondered then as I got higher I saw a trail leading up to a clearing in the bushes. We scratched our way down to Faria point and worked it for about 2 hours trying to get high enough to get around the rotor and reach Solimar. The guy on the Rush gave up and just as he landed a ripping thermal broke loose and got me to 1500 ft. I left the end of the point with about 1400 and got to the ridge about 1/4 mi west of the Solimar launch with 400 ft not quite soarable nice landing on the beach in to a SW wind 3-5.

wow! nice flyin taggart! yesterday i got airsick and disorientated soon after launching so i soon headed out, pretty weird. i think i got roofied, before i knew it i was laying in the back of some homeless dudes van who didnt speak any english but got us back to parma. tu casa es mi casa. good times! cort got up to 7k at la cumbre and flew to padaro with grantham and others, magic mike and many others was skied out, sporrer got over 6kish tandem, and colorado neil got 7400 then went west across the pass and got to lizards mouth and back. hammer went on glide from thermal factory and didnt make another turn until almost the powerlines. he then tagged divide peak and got back to east beach. amazing! yesterday was 18 degrees cooler at peak and 1015 pressure.

today(friday) was plenty of lift with east wind. jumped at 10:30. seemed slow to 4k then buoyant. i hit 4600 a few times and poked upwind w marty and andy up ahead. got rejected my first go at shadow but got some sloppy seconds after a reboot at parkers. they went further east then i did and we redevued at padaro as they had a car there. colorado neil kept goin and landed at the bottom of whiteledge. he hiked to the knob, and relaunched a sledder to the 150. fun day! we were back to parma by 12:15. i hear 'the boy who flies' had a nice first sb flight too. how did the rest of the day play out?!
