3 pilots flew the Nuthouse on Saturday. Max Altitude 6200, Top Landing at Chiefs, then getting to Fillmore with 3K. Link to flight articles and photo.

Friday Night Post: Leaning toward the Nuthouse for Saturday, but SB let off today (Friday) after the passage of a weak front with a lifting cloud street the full length of the range both directions. The street started below 4K, but continued to lift through much higher altitude and may have retreated behind the front range by mid afternoon, but there were still some remnants through Casitas Pass around 3 PM. Peak heating looks like Saturday or Sunday depending on location. Not as hot as last weekend, but Ojai is still forecasting a mid 20 degree F spread from the Valley floor to 6K. SB is forecasted to run about 10 degrees cooler. Like last Saturday, there will be some north wind across the SB ridge line early, but I suspect it may block.

Joined SD and Tom Pipkin for the hike up. Wind was gusting to the mid-teens on launch, but I didn't connect with a solid core until more than half way down to the highway. Got up to ridgeline and over to spine one where it felt like the wind was coming from all directions at times. The west wind made for good glides, but once falling out the back of a thermal it was easier to just go to the next point then stay. Skipped across the top of Nordhoff, and Stooges, then worked up to Chief's for a top landing. SD soon joined me, while Tom P ran retrieve. We planned to take the high route to Fillmore, but couldn't get much over 6K. Good climb over east repeater, but found nothing at Puckers. Came in low to SP ridge and didn't get more than disorganized pops..so landed at Thomas Aquinas. SD connected higher and made Fillmore.
