Nuthouse was good! We didn't get to launch until just after noon but with the time change that was ok. Tim and Corey along with Jim from SLC were along for the experience, some without gliders just to see what it was all about. Strong cycles, straight in, and with a 31º spread I didn't want to sit around to see how much stronger it could get. Off at 12:30 with a quick climb to 2500 where I got stuck under a ceiling. Jim launched and had one of the fastest rides to the LZ I've ever seen. His sink alarm only sounds off at 2,000+FPM and he heard it. Meanwhile I got up through to ridge top level and was able to cruise to the bump pre-pyramid in lift that seemed to be everywhere. The pyramid however wasn't producing so I skipped over to Nordhoff and arrived a little low. Surfed the front to just under 4k in 1000FPM up. Probably could have taken it higher if I'd been willing to drift back but I was starting to run into a pretty stiff SW wind. Ran for the HS and squeaked it in with a few turns to spare. The surface wind had kicked up considerably so we made a run to Bates, where apparently everyone else had been playing. We rotated until it kicked on hard and became HG only. Fun day! Wish the weekend forecast was better.
