today flying and really cool video

Today was so smooth for flying, it did not feel like Santa Barbara. The inversion was at about 3300 for me, but that was enough to enjoy the most peaceful and beautiful ride to the beach.

On another note, look at this awesome video:

Notice the new trend in Europe to remove the brake poulleys and replace them with an elastic attached to the harness. That provides more directional control of the arms motions.

Hey Irene, from what I understand is that the pulleys are being taken off so the brake toggles can be tied up higher making for shorter travel when doing acro. The elastic keeps the handle from getting lost in the breeze if you have to release toggles.

From what I have heard is doesn't help with arm motion and is in fact hard to get used to not having the resistance of the pulleys as a lever to pull toggles against.

Doesn't that video make a trip to Madeira sound good!!

From what I heard, but indirectly, the acro guys really like it because you can move your arms in all directions. They say it is weird at first, but when you get used to it, it feels great. But I dunno ! I haven't tried it !
