Lift at every point?

Postby Bo Criss » Thu Nov 29, 2007 8:19 pm

Yeahhhhh baby!!!!!!!!

Had a really good day, the best I've had in 2 months for sure. Skyport was working right off launch, R&R the same. I went out to play with friends out front who were looking good as well, and then ooops, where's the lift?

Found it 200' over the fire road, which took me to the rock, which took me to the antennas, which took me to the powerlines, on up to thermal factory and back in the game.

My friend Andy Keller had sent it on down the line to Montecito Peak and was searching as I arrived. The far spine was the place to get up. We ventured on with each point hitting. The thermals were strong, tight and a bit spicy. We both pulled off 2 or 3 40% asymetrics during our fight/flight downrange.

Andy had declared goal on launch to be Caje (the best coffee and juice store in southern California in Carpinteria on Casitas Pass exit next to Subway). So as we neared the Powerlines we were getting strong climbs with a bit of extra spice and it was a pleasant decision to head out. Ojai was doable, but it sure felt nice to have the butter smooth glide to the beach.

Blended ice mocha and some mexican grub capped off a great day. Pauline had driven down after her great thermalling flight at Skyport. Thanks for the lift and it's always good flying with amigos.

Let's hope this becomes a trend!

Yes Nice work Bo, I walked out on lunch break and saw you over the fire road thinking WOW Bo is in no mans land.. So I watched.....looked like you were only 50 feet over the rock/road.. Hanging in there then you hooked one and next thing you were up and chasing Andy who was well on his way to Montecito. twas fun to watch.

The good and the bad of Living at Parma. When it’s good you get to fly. When you have to work and its good.. You have to watch them fly. But I was taking notes.
