Postby JimmyZ » Wed Mar 26, 2008 3:50 pm

Hey everyone. A reserve repack clinic is coming up at the end of April for those of us that need our annual repack before heading to the Owens, flying locally, or just want to check out and prepare that old shute sitting in your closet...

Details to come later this week....

Check back soon!

Reserve system clinic Sunday around 4 pm, April 27th at John Greynald’s house----2774 Puesta del sol, S.B. 682-3483.

Some of us are way overdue for a repack. The people who design reserve systems recommend that they get repacked every six months. Previous clinics have revealed that about one in three of us have systems that will not deploy correctly. The problems are usually from poor maintenance, improper equipment, not understanding how the systems are supposed to function and not being aware of the common causes of a compromised reserve system.

The Clinic will provide opportunity to practice throwing your chute in the simulator of your choice and than get it inspected and repacked by qualified packmasters.

In the paragliding simulator, you will be able to get spun and/or thrashed. The HG simulator can replicate a good thrashing too. Bring your helmets!

The cost for the repack is $35 and the simulator /clinic is $5. Food and drink will be provided. Videos and reserve system literature too.

If you’re just going for the repack, you can drop off your harness on the front porch any time after Thursday the 24nd and before Sunday. Don’t leave all your accessories such as varios and flight suits etc, ID your gear!
You can pick up your repacked gear after Wednesday the 30th from the fort porch. You don’t have to call first. Let me or the pack masters know if you need to get your stuff repacked and back to you right away.
If you are planning on using a simulator, bring your helmet and gloves and accessories that you usually fly with to replicate your in flight configuration.

If you don’t need any repack stuff done, or just need some fresh rubber bands, come for the party anyway. We’ll deploy the old rocket this time for sure.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!!!
