Hello pilots,
Big Sur Spring Flying trip is fast approaching (It's next weekend, April 26th - 28th) so get out that camping gear and get ready to fly on one of the most beautiful coastlines around.
We will be doing a potluck on Saturday night so plan to prepare a little extra if you wish to participate.
We have two group campsites at the Plaskett Creek campgrounds. More details here.
http://www.recreation.gov/campgroundDet ... rkId=70161While there is plenty of room for camping and socializing around the firepit....the parking is limited so please get your friends together or contact other pilots and try to carpool. There's an incentive for this as well, we will be charging per car for the camping so the more you can carpool the cheaper it will be to camp. It will be the same as last year, $25 per car for 2 nights or $15 per car for one night. So for example, a car with 4 people for 2 nights is only $6.25 per person.
Please bring extra firewood for the nightly campfire. Lot's of firewood is always a good thing! Firewood, Firewood, Firewood!
We plan to have a raffle on Saturday night. We have a lot of great prizes donated already for the raffle. Here's some of what you can win if you come to Big Sur!
Several SBSA Club t-shirts,
Several Bottles of good wine,
$100 gift certificate toward FlyAboveAll Paragliding,
Tandem flight courtesy of Eagle Paragliding,
Hang Glider tandem flight or 1 day training lesson at the training hill courtesy of Fly Away Hang Gliding,
Fly Tech Speed Sleeves,
Hang Gliding mentor-ship with an advanced pilot,
Camping fees paid,
Bracelets,
8-10lbs of yellow tail fish,
and we are adding more prizes daily so expect there to be much much more for the raffle!!!
Raffle tickets will be $5 each and will be sold on Friday and Saturday in Big Sur. This is a fundraiser for the club so don't be shy about buying as many tickets as you want. All proceeds go directly to SBSA.
So no excuses, come on up, fly, hike, socialize, party with your fellow pilots.
Flying in costume on Saturday is encouraged for those who are so inclined to dress up.
See you all next week!
Cheers,
-Jon Blake
