DUNLAP Flying Adventure - May 10-13

The SBSA is hosting a trip to Dunlap for some spring flying. This is one of the favorite sites for Bay Area pilots and is a good place to learn thermaling (with P4 sponsors). Small-scale XCs are the norm, running up and down and across Dunlap valley. It was home to the US PG Nationals in 2009. On good days, it can be soarable from around 10:00 A.M. until sundown. One can expect mellow soaring flights in the morning, very strong conditions mid-day (during the summer) and evening glass-offs. Many PG pilots try to avoid summertime mid-day flights and HG pilots try to avoid landing in the LZ mid-afternoon on hot days.
The club will be putting together some camping suggestions and easy access to waivers/ site dues information in the next few weeks.
Dunlap requires a current USPHA rating, so make sure yours is up-to-date before the trip.
Located east of Fresno, Dunlap is about a 5.5 hour drive from Santa Barbara.
If possible, RSVP through Facebook SBSA Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Santa-Barbara-Soaring-Association-SBSA/299344460117534) or by emailing flysbsa@gmail.com
