World Paragliding Championship - US Pilot wins task one

Postby Marge » Sun Jan 25, 2009 9:56 pm

Check out the Eagle WebsIte at Eagleparagliding.com and click "World Championships Daily News". Rob is giving us the blow by blow and keeping us up to date. US pilot, Eric Reed won day one. This is 12 day Comp and the US team has a really good chance of taking home some nice shelf ornaments. Boy do I miss flying in Valle.

I am amazed at how good so many of the pilots are. Take task 3 as an example- 97 k AND 48 people are in goal within 10 min of the winner. That must have been one huge lead gaggle for 3 hours!
Hangliding is not the best.
Paragliding is not the best.
Thermal flying IS the best!
