I was looking at the weather observation sites this AM and saw about 15 new observation sites around Lone Pine, they were called Sierra Rotor. So I googled it and found some pretty cool stuff that Yale university is studying on wave formation in the Sierras, if you google it you will find all kinds of good info on meteriology.

This started in 2004, the second phase is going on now, it is called T-Rex,

Hopefully will get some good info out of it!
