Three questions...

Postby Robb » Fri Mar 03, 2006 11:33 am

Mark Pratt took me flying in Fillmore at a place he called Oat Mt.; others have refered to Oat mt. in Fillmore as well. However I have a map that calles it OAK Mt., and the Desoto ladies club is listed as OAT mt. Does anyone have input on these names?

I heard that a member of the foot launched community had purchased the site (Oat or Oak) in Fillmore, anyone know the details? A radio reciever on the top of that site would be at least 12 miles closer than my place and could simplify the weather station project.

Does anyone have Mark's phone number?

Last question: don't any of you bums have jobs? Every day at lunch I read about the great flights I've missed out on!

It's Oat Mtn, and a parcel up there belongs to Ronnie Gruell. The best person to act on your behalf is Diablo, Tony and Ron go way back.

Never heard of the Oat Mtn. out by Desoto, we just call it Candy(ass) Land.

The Senator from Ojai is, of course, correct.

I found all California USGS maps are free to download at:http://www.klofas.com/topo/

The Fillmore map shows Oat Mt.
The Oat Mountain map also shows Oat Mt. (in candyland)

The maps are a bit dated, it's interesting to see the roads and developments from 30 years ago.
