Has the forest service changed their position on access to Cheifs Peak, or have we lost that launch indefinatly? Does anyone have inside info on the plans? I'm afraid that if we dont activly help the forest service with their decision, it's going to be hike-up only in the Ojai valley...

I called the front desk this morning and was told that no permits will be issued until "sometime after the Spring rains." Hopefully that will be before SB gets the Summer inversion.
