The Santa Barbara Soaring Association will be meeting this Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the Elings Park Training Hill. The business end of the meeting will start at 7:00 pm (note time) and a bar-b-que will be fired up well before that.

Hot topics for discussion:
1. The accident at the Grade
2. Advantages of global warming to local soaring opportunities
3. Mentoring program for pilot retention
4. Great flights
5. First impressions of the merger of SBSA and SCPA Forums

Hope to see you all there!

I WAS EXCITED TO COME TO THE MEETING ON THE 9TH. IS THIS TAKING THE PLACE OF THAT ONE? IF SO, I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS AND UNABLE TO ATTEND. I AM INTERESTED AS TO THE CONTENT OF THE DISCUSSION CONCERNING THE GRADE ACCIDENT AS WELL AS GETTING INFO ON JOINING THE ASSOCIATION AND MEETING EVERYONE. PLEASE ADVISE

Two clubs, two different meetings. The SBSA is comprised mainly of HG pilots but PG pilots are welcome too. The SCPA meeting is still on the 9th.

Actually, over half of the paid members of the SBSA are paraglider pilots and one of our club's main goals is to unite hang glider and paraglider pilots in social flying.

We encourage all pilots to attend our meetings and support site preservation, Debbie the Windtalker, and other activities by joining and participating in the SBSA.
