Volume control for headset

For the longest time, I've wanted a volume control on my MotoComm headset. Maybe this isn't an issue for everyone, because my racing harness has my radio stowed away internally and inaccessible. Too often, I launch and find that my radio is too loud/too soft, or the squelch is too low, or someone won't shut up/ cross traffic.

A volume slider, wheel, or dial on my helmet would be a dream come true!

I don't know enough about electronics to choose the right part, but I could probably put it in myself.

Can anyone help me by this weekend, before I leave for Italy?
