An interesting experimental glider from Wings of Change:

Deathblade
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-OzE4jOtw0

"DER WAHNSINN HAT EINEN NAMEN" translates to "The Madness [or insanity] has a name."

You've got to love the tongue-in-cheeck, self-parodying theme music and the over-exaggerated, über-Deutsch "Dess-blade" pronunciation.

Researching it on PG Forum after seeing the video, it seemed that the motivations and implications are yet contentious at best--maybe a foolish example of para-hubris, or maybe the beginning of the next breakthrough? What's inarguable is that the demo flight itself is an accomplishment!

Of course, Monsieur Florit is apt to have the latest available info on Para2000.org

Quite an aspect ratio.

Deathblade is a development from last year's PsychoHammer:

So what's the relevance of such a thing for the SBSA/SCPA forum?

Well, maybe Dean S. will someday be spotted on something like it (if there is ever an associated performance advantage) and, a day further off, perhaps T.T. Jr too? (Since the lore surrounding his call sign's eponym would obligate him to willingly wrangle with such a monstrosity, should it be at all possible).
Consider this a warning, so that any local debut won't be too mind-blowing :)

Ozone was trying something similar. http://www.flyozone.com/paragliders/en/ ... 8/07/9132/
I suspect the WoC version is for more or less the same reasons as Ozone's. R&D. I don't think either would fit on the Nuthouse launch but you might be able to make the HS on glide...;P

TT Jr. will try anything twice before making a judgment call.
