More Mesa?

I heard that More Mesa is closed these days. Can anybody confirm that? If this is true I would think it should be posted on the local club web site????

Yes, More Mesa is closed for awhile. Some soaring pilots are working on a contract with the airport that should allow us access again, but we need to stay away from there until further notice.

There was a MM thread on here but it got deleted for some reason. I agree that the closure should be posted here so everyone knows what's going on. I'm sure we will be notified when things change.

I think that thread was cancelled by the NSA. All further notices are on a need to know basis and.....

A sign on launch would be a good idea too. A lot of out of towners go fly More Mesa- and they might not check the website. Thanks to those who are involved in the negotiating!

Do we have any info on WHY it suddenly became off limits?

This may not be the best place for this discussion. The August SBSA meeting will be the place to get scooped. Anyone wanting me to email a copy of the minutes of this Thursdays meeting who cannot attend please let me know. I think a sign at launch would be good for visiting pilots. I'm just not sure if the sign is good for non pilots who walk by to see. Resolution looks promising, hoping we can all practice patience.

OK to land at the "T"

Postby SA » Tue Aug 12, 2008 6:23 am

I spoke with our contact at the tower this weekend, and we are OK to fly the mountains and land at the "T". He appreciates our patience regarding MM, and says he will let us know the status as soon as he gets news.
