I am a P2 who currently resides in Oxnard. I have flown alternator and skyport, bates and more mesa. I am interested in flying chiefs and some of the other local sites.

Hey Kelly! Glad to see you finally made it to the SCPA board. Weekends are usually when it's happenin' here. We'll try to post meet times the night before so keep watching the board for info. Some weekends we might pick a day to go to Pine. Might be a day you want to skip, or volunteer to do driver duty. You'll learn a lot in the truck on the way up.

My first trip to Pine I drove retrieve and it was an excellent learning experience - not only did I get to see launch conditions, I also got to learn peoples thoughts and approach when prepairing to go OTB. I got a "map talk" with all the connection points and landmarks, and I covered the route with no stress. Then I got to hear all about the flights from more experienced guys, and connect that to the weather I could see. When I did finally fly to the I5 myself, I already knew the key points and what the LZ's are like.

Lots of driving, and a long day, but well worth it.

I do the 8 to 5 shuffle on Monday through Fridays,
Weekends are the only days I have for Flying.
