Tony and I committed flight this past Sunday. Here's my write up. In it there are some comments about flying XC from Pine. If you want to add something or take issue with what has been written please feel free to leave a post in the comment section.

http://socalxc.blogspot.com/2008/08/back-to-pine.htmlSpeaking of Pine, one of my goals has been to fly to the towers above Frazier and then head west to land on the beach in Santa Barbara (made it back to Ojai once). We're coming into the time of year where such a flight might me possible. I thought that it might be fun to call a one day contest if the conditions ever arrive. Anyone game? Perhaps we can have a little party right at the beach after everyone flies into goal?

It wasn't the day we hoped for but still fun. Could not get my harness closed but decided to enjoy any flight that I had. Low in Lockwood Valley 6K and went on glide west climbing to 12500K west of Frazier on glide to Booster Junction spent the rest of the flight across the Antelope yo-yoing between 3700' and 8K landed in the last landable area on the northside of The Silver Queen Mine 2 miles west of Highway 14 -68 miles. The first time that I had flown across The Antelope Valley so low.
