Got on board with Art and Chip with Edward for crew, got there early so Art would have time to set up his HG. Killed some time by doing some launch maintenance then launched first around 11:45. Art was off soon after and we shared a few climbs about halfway down the spine. It felt like a high pressure day, good thermals to hook into but short-lived. Art went looking for more out front while I took the strong Easterly drift out over the canyon then skipped to Stooges. Nothing there worth turning in so continued on to Bruce's, coming in halfway down at 3200 ft.

Even though the East side of Bruce's had full sun and a 10 mph E. breeze on it, there wasn't much to climb in. After losing ground for a few minutes I drifted over to the leeward side and found a disorganised thermal that was good for a thousand foot climb to the top of the ridge. Continued West on Nordhoff Rdg. and found plenty of textured air which kept me busy until I tired of it and flew out to the high school. Art and Chip both landed at the golf course.

Vario Log: 560 fpm up, 720 dn, max alt. 4908, 1 hour airtime.
