Posted: Sat Feb 09, 2008 6:26 pm4350 at the r&r got me over to tf and after a few minutes i left eastbound w/ 4350 again. art and bob were nearby as we progressed with the radio drama "leg strap guy" being played out live. (as i heard, legstrapguy landed safely at the T). montecito peak worked ok and romero canyon was edgey but got me up enough to fly past castle. i saw art and bob peel off for padaro and thought i'd tag the power lines. but i got up easy to 4850 over the lines and the strong drift led me on. at the Ledge the hawks were tucked and parked in the west wind. i got up to 5K and left eastbound (crabbed) at 32mph. I reached the nuthouse launch about 300 over and promply found the best lift of the day and was up over nordhoff ridge at 5200 quickly. It was an unstressed and fun flight thus far and hoping to keep it that way i took this altitude out to the high school cruising over it at 3100 feet (a rare treat for me.) thanks to art for the retrieve.
