I was approached by a woman in the Windmill Field/Propeller Field LZ on Friday and told the land is private and we are not allowed to land there. My attempt to explain that we were under the impression that Emma (the landowner) didn't seem to mind was no help. She replied "This is our property and you can't land here. Pass the word."
So as it now stands, you'll have to find another place for a bailout LZ in Ojai.

I'll get hold of Emma and get it cleared up. The woman was probably her daughter and doesn't know the scoop yet.

Your time is Appreciated once again in Helping us ALL out...
I thought one of the daughters lived in the motor home on the property back in the NW corner... The young lady use to come out and watch us a while back but I have been out of circulation a long while here...
Thanks again Chris

Hey Chris
I know you have been BUSY doing more than your Fair share for the club. As work begins on the road to chiefs here and we get ready to potentially start flying there again. Have you had any luck in fallowing up with this LZ info???
I know this sort of got swept under the rug and forgotten about etc. Yet as pilots begin to fly out here in the valley again and Hang gliding from LA pilots as well come up, during the week. I do not want to be causing us any Undo stress or problems once the road is opened back up or Pine is opened and people are flying out to Upper Ojai area and coming up short to the designated LZ area... Potentailly landing in this field and then causing problems etc etc...
So any word on this when you have tyime would be greatly appreciated...

Yep. The LZ is ok to land in. Everyone needs to be a USHPA member though. If anyone stops through to say hi just be nice (duh) and introduce yourselves as members of the local club. Emma and John are the landowners and they're super nice.
Let's get that road open ASAP!
