France Flying

Postby Doug G » Sat Oct 27, 2007 10:49 am

Well I'm back in France, Hanging out with that crazy French girl named Clem. And what fun we're having....Arrived in France last night, slept in late and then went to fly St. Hilaire today, which is only 20 min away. Now sitting here, drinking so some wine and trying to type on a crazy French keyboard. Cool.

St Hilaire was good today, Clem and I flew for over 1 hour, and got over the top for awhile. Very cool views with a nice low level, but thin cloud layer that we were above. As is typical with St. Hilare, lots of gliders in the air, but not too many that it was crazy.. And of course we launched from carpet and landed on beatifully manicured green grass. Awesome. This time of year the flying is not so great for this area of France, so we're stoked we were able to soar. It is starting to get cold here...so it's definetly full winter gear, by SB standards.

Tommorrow we're off to play tourist in Geneva, and after that soon off to the South of France for more flying.

But no pics to share...as I forgot to take my camera today....maybe had something to do with my body thinking it was 4am when we launched...

Bummer about the Big Sur trip. Hope you guys are getting some good, relatively smoke free local flying back home.
