Chief Peak, 9/14

The usual Friday hooky gang took Not-So-Fast Eddie as crew to fly Ojai on Friday. Conditions were good in the Topas. I reached 5,800 at the Chief and 5,600 at both Nordhoff Peak and the Pyramid. Coming out, I lost very little altitude - cruising the valley for over half an hour at 4K. The convergence let me pass over OJ's house looking for hints of what the AARP crowd might be up to. Even the LZ was going off; I stayed between 2-2.5K for twenty minutes before landing in the strong southwest wind. I'll let Chip and Andy D. and Art tell their stories of adventures in the far east.

One hour forty minutes. 950 up; 550 down.
